Chickpeas
Chick Peas were first grown in Turkey 7450 BC. The main types are desi small size darker colour and kabuli bigger size cream colour. Total world production of chickpeas is about 9.000.000 MT. The main producer being India and this amount constitutes 15 pct of world's pulses production.
The major importers are Spain, Algeria, Libya, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq, Tunis, Usa.
